Thankfully the Wednesday was dry, which meant it was a very busy day on the green as everybody sought to fine tune their putting stroke for the week.
During the 2 week break on the European Tour prior to the BMW, a few of the guys I work with took the opportunity to visit the studio. It was good to catch up with them to see how they have progressed and continue with the work. On the Wedensday I met with Simon Wakefield, Mark Brown and Oliver Fisher at different points to go over things we had worked on in the studio.
Working with the players away from tournament play is very important for me, as the studio offers very clinical conditions and allows me to utilise all our analysis tools such as the forceplate, high speed video and SAM Puttlab. For example wokring with Mark Brown in the studio using an overhead fixed camera we were able to show aspects of Marks stroke that he would not have been able to appreciate otherwise. With the SAM Puttlab inthe studio we were was also able to show how Simon has improved the statistics of his stroke from his initial analyis in Dubai.
It was also good to meet up with henrik Stenson, whom I hadnt seen since the European Open at the London Club. Henrik had his best placing last week in a US Open, with a top 10 finish. Interviewed on Sky Sports he passed comment on how his putting had been the key to the week, with him only having his 'C Game' at Bethpage Black. Despite suffering from jetlag and feeling the effects of a long and tiring week, as ever Henrik is always prepared to put the work in and on Wednesday it was no different.
From a product point of view there was little activity on the green due to the rain curtailed practice days. However there will be a strong presence of Yes! Putters in the field, lets hope one of them takesaway the top prize come Sunday! Next week I will be at the French Open in Paris.
