On the Monday we put a plan together after analysing his SAM data and high speed video. Hopefully we can get him on the right track.
On Tuesday I met up with Barry Lane who putted better last week and was eager to see an improvement with his SAM data, which there was. However there were a few areas he needed to keep focusing on this week.
I also spent some time Graeme Storm and Thomas Bjorn over the 2 days while Ollie Fisher and David Horsey were also playing. A common theme for most of the players, particularly when the fundamentals of technique are there, is rhythm and timing. The tempo and consistency of the tempo is particularly important helping each players stroke function in terms of achieving line and pace.
A big focus with many of the players I work with then is to practice with their tempo in mind and practicing with feedback on their tempo.
With regards to putters Phil Archer took a Donna 33 inch this week and Brett Rumford took a Dawn SWS 150g weight. I also had to adjust the lie angle for Emmanuel Canonica's Lizzie that he took last week which helped find some form in Madrid in an effort to keep his card.
That's all from Madrid, next week its Valencia. For more news and information on scoring from the Portugal Masters please visit www.europeantour.com
