Pelle Edberg asked me to lengthen his Sandy 2 inches and weight it up to E9 swingweight. He had it back out this week, as he had been using another manufacturers putter for the last few weeks. We spent some time testing both putters on the casio high speed camera for ball roll. The Sandy came out on top and we also took some loft of it (down to 1 degree) to help the ball roll further.
Miles Tunnicliff took an Abbie 34 inch bent to 69 degree lie. On Wednesday Brett Rumford took a Dawn . He has also requested a Dawn with SWS which I will take out to Portugal next week. I made up a Lizzie with 'plumbers neck' for Emmanuel Canonica which he will be using while Gary Murphy picked up a Sandy SWS with 150g weight which will be in play this week, both players need a big week to help them get closer to keeping their card.
From an instructional point of view it was also a busy week. Regular pupils David Horsey and Ollie Fisher were playing so I spent some time with both of the guys.
I also spent some time with Barry Lane on the SAM system who is struggling on the greens. We were able to pinpoint a couple of important areas where Barry wasn't performing, and then as a result give him some drills to help focus his practice more specifcally.
I also worked with Thomas Bjorn and Graeme Storm on the SAM system. The system provides fantasic feedback on the different parameters of the stroke from which the player and coach can then direct pactice more efficiently. This is an important point in that I see a lot of players practicing inefficiently as they dont understand what the keys are to make their stroke function. Both players responded well to the sessions. Hopefully one of the guys above can do the business this week.
