With the event being a co-sanctioned event with the Asian Tour, it was the first opportunity for me to meet some of the Asian Tour players, and for many of them to pick up some product.
One of them was L.W. Zhang, the most prominent Chinese pro golfer, and the first one to play in the Masters. Zhang picked up a Donna 34. Other s players who took putters this week included Francesco Valera (Callie FC ), Marc Cayeux (Dawn), Jason Knutzon ( Tracy 3), Carlos del Moral (Callie FC), Andrea Chaipuza (Donna) and Marc Dobias a (Callie FC)
This week I also spent some time with a couple of promising British players called Danny Willet and Gareth Maybin. Both Danny and Gareth felt they weren't holing enough putts for their good golf at present so they asked me to have a look at them. As with most good players, the set up is often the cause of any problems, and both Danny and Gareth were struggling with alignment which meant they both had to make a manipulation to hit the ball on line. Hopefully the guys can make a few putts this week.
Dave Horsey was also playing this week and spent a little time going over a few things, but his stroke was looking good. Next week it's Cologne for the Mercedes Championship, which is a limited field event.
