Dutch Open Tour Report

Published: 09 September 2010

It was rather wet in Holland this week for the Dutch Open. The venue is Hilversum which looked a great course. The weather however wasn't so great which meant the practice putting green was a little quiet, with not so many guys venturing out.

Despite the rain I met up with Ross Fisher and Joost Lutien on the Tuesday and Chris Wood and Michael Hoey on the Wednesday however. Joost and Michael I hadn't seen for a while so it was good to catch up those guys, while with Chris it was nice to continue the work we had done in the studio a couple of weeks back. In fact Chris was the first pupil through the door in our new studio which was great!....luckily we have a tall door!  Chris was looking good. His putting stats are improving, as indicated by 11th place in putts per round last week in Cran. Hopefully he can sneak a few more in this week also.

I also spent some time with Darren Clarke this week. I had not seen him for a while. He tells me he is hitting the ball great, so if he can hole a few putts I'm sure he will figure at an event he won 2 years ago. In fact if Darren can get some consistency in his putting he should figure every week.

My next event will be the Ryder Cup which I'm really looking forward to. Ross Fisher asked me this week if I would attend the event with him so that will be a great honour. Edoardo Molinari is also in the team, as you probably know, so it will be great to see him there as well. I certainly look forward to putting some thoughts and comments from that week down in the blog.
