Seville was the stop this week for the Spanish Open and another busy week on the green. Once again with regards to the putter models lots of interest in the Donna. Richard Bland picked one up this week which he will be using. On Tuesday I also spent some time with Richard on the SAM system with his coach Tim Barter. This provided some useful information to help Richard structure his practice better. Alignment once again being an important but often overlooked issue.
Also met up with Terry Pilkadaris from Australia who is a Yes! Putter user. We worked with Terry on the SAM system and used some video analysis. I also worked with Peter Fowler for the first time this week, although we have met and spoke before. Im hopeful Peter got some constructive things to work on from the session, after struggling on the greens recently by his own admission and high standards.
On Wednesday also spent some time working with Scott Barr. He is currently using Tracy 2 model. In order to help him with his technique we fitted him for a shorter putter, at 32 inches which helped reduce the rotation he had in his stroke naturally.
I met up with Mak Foster, who has been to the studio in recent weeks also. In that time we fitted him for a 33 inch callie with a 2 thumb grip on it, which helps his with his foream alignment at set up. We did some work which involved using the True Plane putting aid, which provides really useful feedback on path and puter face, a core component of the work we have been doing.
Next week it’s to Milan for the Italian Open. Hopefully the above mentioned guys can get on a roll this week. Excuse the pun!
