England's Lee Slattery made use of all his 'links experience' to battle the blustery conditions and secure a tied 4th place finish at the Qatar Masters last week.
Slattery, who learnt his trade at Hesketh Golf Club in Southport, followed his first three rounds of 69 with a final day 70, with two valuable birdies to finish moving him into the top five. With the tour now heading to Dubai for the Desert Classic, Lee will be hoping to build on this good form and add to his tally of two European tour titles.
Another of Mike Kanski's students, England International amateur Jamie Bower, made a winning start to his South African tour at the Gauteng North Open. Bower, who was one of four golfers selected to represent his country in the event, sank a dramtic 18 foot birdie putt to secure victory and finish the four round tournament on an impressive 13 under par.
Congratulations Jamie, a talented golfer who always impresses with his attention to detail in practise. A name to watch out for in the future!
