South African Louis Oosthuizen came agonisingly close to repeating his 2010 Open Championship victory at St Andrews after a three man playoff with American Zach Johnson and Aussie Marc Leishman.

It took both a gutsy par save on the 17th hole and a birdie up the last hole to secure Louis his spot in the four-hole playoff, with all three players matched on -15 for the week. Some superb putting from Johnson saw him to take a one stroke lead to the 18th hole for the second time around, with the Claret Jug now firmly in his sights. With a putt for victory narrowly missing it would be left to Oosthuizen to make his birdie putt to take the playoff further, dramtic scenes at the end of a dramatic week.

The putt would slip by the hole, crowning Johnson the 2015 Open Champion, his second Major Championship adding to his Masters victory back in 2007.

A great week overall for Louis, a student of putting coach Phil Kenyon, who will undoubtedly compete for Major Championships again in future. A classy golfer with a great attitude who gave us some spectacular golf over the week. Well done Louis!
