It was a case of deja-vu for Southport's Tommy Fleetwood in Abu Dhabi; defending his title from twelve months ago and securing yet another European tour title to his rapidly growing collection.
The Race to Dubai champion, who is a student of Swash Putting Director Phil Kenyon, secured a third tournament victory since the start of 2017 in a style that epitomised his stunning rise up the rankings. In blustery winds, Fleetwood produced a Sunday 65 – including an inward half of 30 – to take the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship by two at 22 under par from Ross Fisher. Another of Phil's students Rory McIlroy’s closed with a 70 resulting a share of third with Matt Fitzpatrick at minus 18 (yet another of Phil's students).
This stunning start to the 2018 calender year is testiment to Tommy's work ethic and focus as he strives towards his ultimate goal - securing the world number one spot.
A huge congratulations to all in 'Team Fleetwood', here's to many more successes in 2018!
