Congratulations and good luck to pupil Matthew Fitzpatrick, who this last week announced he is to join the professional ranks after making his debut in the U.S Open at Pinenhurst in June.
Fitzpatrick, who works with Putting Coach Phil Kenyon, has signed with the ISM management group run by Andrew 'Chubby' Chandler and will play the remainder of the year on invites in a bid to gain his playing privileges for the 2015 season. Among the events Chandler and Fitzpatrick are looking at are the Czech Open, Omega European Masters, KLM Open, Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and Scottish Open.
As current U.S Amateur Champion, Fitzpatrick had already secured an invite to the Scottish Open but it was contingent on him remaining amateur. However there is hope he may still recieve an invite through his new management group.
Fitzpatrick also sacrifices his invite to this years Open Championship at Hoylake in July, again attained through his U.S Amateur success. In taking a place in final qualifying let's hope Matthew can make it through anyway to take his place in the field as a professional. Everyone at Harold Swash Putting wishes him the very best of luck!
