Over the 2 practice days I aslo did some putting coaching with Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano helping him with his technique and club specification. ‘Gonzo’ is a great guy and one of the nicest players out on tour. ‘Gonzo’ fell in love with a prototype model we had with us and after cutting it down to 33 inches to help ‘Gonzo’ get into a better posture, grip and eye position it was in his bag for the event.
Interestingly Charl Schwartzel also picked up the new Tracy fc, which is a forged version (out of carbon steel) of the original Tracy model that his countryman Retief Goosen used to win both his US Opens.
Using the SAM Puttlab we also able to help Jose Filpe Lima, who uses the Yes! Golf Tracy 2 model get some valuable feedback on his stroke.
Out on tour we provide a service to all players regardless of their manfacturing contracts, which is often not the case with other companies.
An example of this was when we spent some time with Francisco Molinari, who has used c- groove putters in the past but not currently. Francisco’s had a little too much rotation in his backswing which was causing an into out path. This was consistent with him missing a lot of puts to the right in recent rounds.
Yes! Golf we are focused on providing a complete putting solution for players of all calibre or allegiance, from putting coaching to fitting advice. This is why Yes! Golf has been such a big success in recent years due to the excellent relationships its has established through the service it offers.
Gary Houston, whom i know from the days when i was competing also did some work with us. Using SAM Puttlab and putting coaching video software we were able to establish Gary wasn’t hitting the ball with a sufficient enough rise angle, and his tempo was out off key. A contributing factor to why he had struggled on the grainy greens in Abu Dhabi.
The next event Yes! will be at will be the Madeira Open where we will catch up with the guys and hopfully have more stock available of the new Yes! Golf models shown here this week.
