Plano, Texas USA was the destination this week, but not for any tour event, I was heading to Dallas to visit Adams Golf who are the owners of Yes! Golf. This is time of year when they hold there annual sales conference. The conference launches the new product line, delivers product education as well as honouring sales achievements and success. I attended last year and really enjoyed the week so I was looking forward to returning.
This year there was even more interest due to Adams having been recently acquired by Taylor Made Adidas Golf.
Senior figures from Taylor Made spoke on the first day of the conference outlining the plans for Adams and it was exciting to appreciate the potential the company now has as part of the biggest golf brand group in the world.
The conference last two days and although primarily focused on new product features marketing and sales, which is not really that much use to a putting coach, it was interesting to appreciate the golf market, where Adams lie within that market and the plans to grown within that market. The new technology and product coming from Adams in the long game is also outstanding.
After the conference I spent some time with R&D guys looking at the new product and discussing potential developments for Yes! Golf. There is some great new product coming out under Yes! Golf also, with some new technical features and advantages, so I’m really excited personally with the current direction of the company.
During the week I also got the opportunity to play some golf over in Dallas which was really enjoyable and made a nice change. We played some great courses notably Stonebridge Country Club and TPC at Craig Ranch.
On the relaxation side of things I also took my first baseball game in, watching the Boston Red Sox at the Texas Rangers. I can safely say that it will also be my last game, as it seriously bored the pants off me. In fact I feel asleep halfway through the game…I blame the heat!!
At the end of a different but enjoyable week it was straight off to Akron Ohio for the WGC and back to the day job.
